Gow Jia Jian

Gow Jia Jian ("JJ") graduated from the United Kingdom in 2012 with an LL.B, Second Class Upper Honours. He was subsequently called to the English Bar in 2013 after obtaining a grade of Very Competent in his Bar Professional Training Course, and was subsequently admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2014.

JJ’s practice focuses on dispute resolution and corporate matters. Over the years, he has built a strong litigation and advisory practice, with extensive advocacy experience before the Labour Court, Industrial Court, High Court of Malaya, Court of Appeal and Federal Court.

He is recognised for his strategic and commercially minded approach to disputes. His practice is not limited to resolving legal issues after they arise, but also extends to helping clients understand risks, protect business value and make sound commercial decisions.

A key strength of JJ’s practice lies in his ability to connect litigation strategy with commercial reality. He understands that for business owners and companies, a legal dispute is rarely just a legal problem. It may affect reputation, cash flow, market position, business continuity and long-term enterprise value. This allows him to approach disputes with a practical mindset, balancing legal strength with business outcome. Joyce Siaw

Joyce Siaw graduated from the University of Wales in 2011 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2013. She is a Partner of the Firm and heads the Conveyancing Practice.

Her practice encompasses a broad range of real estate, corporate and commercial transactions, with particular emphasis on property development, commercial acquisitions, and cross-border investments.

Joyce has acted for property developers, corporations, financial institutions, SMEs, foreign investors and private clients in connection with the acquisition and disposal of residential, commercial and industrial properties, developer projects, land matters, financing transactions and corporate advisory work. She regularly advises clients on conventional and Islamic financing, corporate acquisitions, shareholders' arrangements, joint ventures and commercial contracts.

She is recognised for her precision and commercial judgment in transactions where procedural and documentary accuracy carry direct financial consequences. Her approach is to identify risk at the outset, advise clients clearly on its implications, and structure documentation to prevent issues from arising downstream.

A key strength of Joys' practice is her ability to manage complex, multi-party transactions with clarity and efficiency. She works closely with banks, agents, other counsel, and clients to coordinate the various components of a transaction toward completion, and is known for translating technical legal and documentary requirements into terms that are practical and readily understood by clients.

She has significant experience in advising Chinese corporations and investors on their investments and business operations in Malaysia, and has been involved in the drafting, review and negotiation of Chinese-language legal documentation, joint venture agreements and commercial contracts for cross-border transactions.

Beyond her professional work, Joys has an interest in travel and food, and in team-based strategy games. She brings the same disposition to her practice: attentive to detail, mindful of timing, and oriented toward outcomes that serve all parties involved in a transaction.
